Chanukkah

Chanukkah will soon be upon us! The "feast of dedication" or "festival of lights" commemerates the rebuilding of the temple and the miracles done for the Maccabees. While not mentioned by Moshe (Moses), it can be found in the book of Daniel and in the Messianic writtings (commonly called the "New Testament.") Although it will not be celebrated on the Jewish calendar until Dec. 26th - Jan. 2nd, it's celebration according to the biblical hebrew calendar falls on Nov. 28 - Dec. 5th. I will post a description of Chanukkah from Barney Kasdan's book entitled "God's Appointed Times" copyright 1993; Lederer Books, Maryland. Be sure to check back in a few days, as this posting will take me some time to complete.
